Summer Sabbath

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Children's Sunday School classes take a break during the summer months, however there is still a lot of faith formation going on in the resting!

We hope that families find new ways to make worship more meaningful. We hope that families linger a little longer with new friends, lemonade and cookies on the mall. We hope that you get to play with your friends on our wonderful big playground. We hope you find God loose in the world!

The Child and Family Ministry Team is praying and planning over the summer months for a wonderful Sunday School in the fall.

Mark your calendars for the Sunday School kick-off on Rally Day, September 7, 2008.

Sunday FUNday!

We invite children and their grown-ups to come play on the big playground on Sunday mornings from 10-11 a.m. during the summer months. Bring a water bottle!

Adult supervision required.

Training for Adults working with Children

St. Martin's will host a "Growing Godly Play in Your Congregation" workshop for Godly Play teachers, parents, church leaders and clergy in the Austin area. Participants will deepen their understanding of Godly Play with trainers Sharolyn Browning and Carol Heath. We will also experience Godly Play outside of the Sunday School classroom on the labyrinth, for older children, Baptism and First Communion instruction, children's sermons and more. We welcome special presenters, Whitney Myers of the Southwestern Texas Synod of the ELCA and Phyllis Carlisle, of Seton Cove.

The event is on Saturday, June 21 from 9 am to 4:30 p.m. Contact Sharolyn Browning for more information.
