What's Happening
The November Benevolence Focus is St. Martin's Freeze Night Shelter.
Donate coats and blankets in November to our "St. Martin's Cloaks" project. The children and youth of St. Martin's Church and Preschool invite you to leave donations of new or gently used blankets, coats and cold weather gear in our hallway collection bins. Items are given to programs such as Coats for Kids, Mobile Loaves and Fishes and our church's Freeze Night Shelter.
St. Martin's Mission Trip to Honduras Preliminary plans are underway for a mission trip to Honduras in early 2009. The proposed date of the trip is Tues. Jan. 20 through Sun. Jan. 25 or Mon. Jan. 26. Possible projects during the trip include: teacher training workshops, mini-Vacation Bible School, building shelves and cabinets, painting and other maintenance work at the school and kindergarten. As always, there will be opportunities to interact with the beautiful children and scholarship students, too. If you are interested in being a part of this mission team or if you have questions, please e-mail Bunny Oliver.
Save The Date! Mark your calendars for these upcoming special events in the life of St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church, which will celebrate its 125th Anniversary in 2009.
Jan. 11: 125th Anniversary Kick Off
March 25: Nordic Choir Concert
April 25 & 26: 125th Anniversary festivities and worship with ELCA Bishop Mark Hanson
May 30: Anniversary finale and worship with Synod Bishop Ray Tiemann
