Fall Women’s Retreat- September 22-24
Ladies plan to join us to share laughter, learnings, memories and more in the beautiful Lutherhill Galveston Retreat Center. Read about Lutherhill Galveston facility and history here.
We will be creating art for our first-in-a-long time St. Martin’s Cookbook, delving into the stories of the “Nameless” Women in the Bible, eating together and exploring Galveston.
Cost is $240/person including accommodations, transportation and meals. Here is the link for online giving: https://onrealm.org/saintmartins/give/womensretreat2023
Rides and Carpooling: The St. Martin’s bus, driven by Mike Kaase, who holds the required CDL license, will depart at 3pm on Friday September 22. Let us know if you would like to ride the bus. Otherwise, we can help to coordinate carpooling.
Our theme is Being At The Table: Feeding our Hearts and Feeding Each Other. The retreat at Galveston has a kitchen, but no cooks, so we will be cooking for each other. To commemorate this we will be asking all participants to submit their favorite recipes, tips, tricks, and other wisdom.
Food: In keeping with our theme of “at the table,” we will prepare and eat 3 meals in the Lutherhill space. Please sign up for one of the below meal prep teams. Plan to purchase any food items needing refrigeration or freezing at the HEB in Galveston; do not bring those food items from Austin.
- Meal 1: Saturday breakfast
- Meal 2: Saturday lunch
- Meal 3: Sunday breakfast
Items to Remember: Attendees will need to bring their own bed linens, towels, and pillows. All other necessary items for dining and cooking will be provided. As with past retreats, you are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to share and/or for yourself.
To Do for Attendees:
- RSVP for weekend ASAP
- RSVP for bus use – we are leaving at 3pm at St. Martin’s
- Select a cooking team – see above
- We have access to 28 beds – 14 upper level bunk beds and 14 on the floor. Are you willing to sleep on a top bunk? Indicate on the registration form your choice
Registration is DUE September 10. Pick up a registration form at the Welcome Desk or Click here to download the registration form. Return the completed forms to Kathrine Lutter.
We invite the congregation to do the same, so that we will have a congregational cookbook to share full of recipes, stories, and wisdom.
Please send recipe submissions to womensretreat@saintmartins.org
