On Sunday, November 21st, we invite you to share in our WELCA Thankoffering Service! This is a tradition started back in the 1800s when additional money was needed to carry out the work of the church. The women came together as “cent” or “mite” societies and set aside offerings at home throughout the year. These offerings were received at Thanksgiving in remembrance of God’s yearly blessings.

Lutheran World Relief Ingathering 2021

The St. Martin’s Women of the ELCA (WELCA) delivered 188 boxes for Lutheran World Relief to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion, TX this month. This represents 251 quilts, 359 school kits, 464 personal care kits and 247 baby care kits.

We thank you all for supporting this ministry of St. Martin’s with gifts not only of money, but also of fabric, bed sheets, bar soap and other items. Thanks also to Mop and Hammer for loading the trailer and church van and driving to Marion.

As you admire the handmade quilts during services on the 21st, please join us in sharing our gratitude during our offering collection. Your donations allow St. Martin’s women to purchase supplies for Lutheran World Relief shipments.

Together we do more than we could ever do apart!
