October 2024 Benevolence of the month
Together we do more than we could ever do apart!
Welcome to the heart of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church! We are thrilled to shine a light on the WELCA Tack and Pack ministry, our Benevolence of the Month. This vital ministry not only brings our community together but also extends our hands and hearts to those in need around the world. Each Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, the dedicated women of our congregation gather in the first-floor WELCA room to sew, assemble, and create quilts and kits that provide comfort and support to individuals and families facing challenges.
The mission of our Tack and Pack ministry is simple yet profound: to craft beautiful quilts and assemble essential personal care, baby, and school kits. Throughout the year, our talented ladies pour their time, love, and creativity into this important work, ensuring that the quilts and kits are ready to be sent to Lutheran World Relief each October. This year, we are particularly excited to invite you to witness the fruits of their labor during the Blessing of the Quilts event on Sunday, October 13, 2024. This special occasion will not only showcase the completed quilts but also celebrate the spirit of community and service that defines our church.
We warmly encourage all members of our congregationespecially womento get involved in this meaningful ministry. Whether you can join us on Tuesday mornings, contribute materials for quilts, or make a monetary donation, every bit of support helps us make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Your participation is invaluable, and together, we can continue to spread love and kindness through our quilting efforts.

LWR Tack and Pack Quilt Raffle-October 27th, 2024
Tickets will be sold October 6th, 13th, and 20th. The drawing will be on Reformation Sunday. Tickets cost $ 5.00 The proceeds from the raffle help fund Lutheran World Relief projects. The quilt was made with love by Karen Kirmis for the St. Martin’s women of the ELCA. Drawing for the quilt will be on Sunday, October 27th.
October 13th is Blessing of the Quilts. The finished quilts for this year will be on display in the sanctuary for both services. The quilts will then be sent off to Lutheran World Relief.
